The Dispatch - February 27th

CE Posting Update
Since the TREC CE Posting System became available in late January, the Texas REALTORS® Education Team has manually posted CE credit for 400 classes and over 6,650 individual records. Thank you for communicating delays and expedited credit requests to your members and students.

On February 26th, we were notified that the data issues impacting TREC should be resolved, and full functionality for automatic credit posting is expected to be restored late Sunday, March 1st. Monday, our Education Team will verify full restoration and ensure any remaining classes are posted. Currently, nearly 5,000 individual records may be pending transmission. Due to the volume, an automated push could still take time. Thank you for your patience as we tackle this last hurdle.

While we are working to ensure all records are successfully transmitted, we need your help to verify for your classes as well. If you or your students notice they have an incomplete TREC education record by end of next week, please notify us so we can follow up.

Course Renewal Requests - April & May
Let us know which unrestricted CE courses you would like renewed with TREC. Review the April & May list of expiring unrestricted courses, and check the box for the desired course. If the box is already checked, someone has already requested the course, and we will renew it.

  • For courses expiring in April, check the box by March 13th, 2026.
  • For courses expiring in May, check the box by March 27th, 2026.

TREC has released new policy for course renewals. Courses pending renewal may now be offered post-expiration, given the renewal application has been submitted prior to the current expiration date. EdConnect expiration dates will be adjusted accordingly to allow for continued scheduling and processing.

Proposed GRI Content Improvement
In efforts to mitigate frequent updates to GRI content, we will move towards including links and QR codes for supplemental documents, contracts, and references in lieu of inserting full copies of said materials. Electronic users will be able to click links, and students with a printed copy can scan QR codes to open the link. Submit feedback on this proposed improvement to education@texasrealtors.com.

Legal Resources for Instructors
Instructors who are members of Texas REALTORS® have access to our Legal Hotline with staff attorneys available to answer questions and provide guidance. The hotline is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central, except for holidays. Should a question arise during a class, it is recommended to call privately outside of instruction times.

All instructors have access to our Instructor Legal FAQs to view staff attorney answers to common classroom questions. A submission form is available for new questions, and applicable answers will be added to the FAQ database. Thank you for your help in building out this resource by submitting your questions.

Redesigned MarketViewer
Encourage members to check out the newly redesigned MarketViewer, which now features an updated design optimized for a more user-friendly mobile experience. Information is organized into clearly defined sections, allowing more content to be displayed while remaining easy to navigate. Color-coded year-over-year indicators highlight increases and decreases, making data trends quick to interpret at a glance. Additionally, a one-page, condensed, downloadable version is available.

Exam Policy for Legal Update & Broker Responsibility
The exam must be administered in some fashion for the students to independently answer the questions prior to a class review of the correct answers. It does not need to be in a traditional exam format as grades are not submitted, but the students need to have an opportunity to answer the questions on their own first. In this process, students may not keep or record exact test questions or answers.

Update on CE Posting, Template for Notifying Attendees, and Related EdConnect Issues
CE Posting Update
In late January, TREC announced that providers could resume posting course credit in the CE Posting system. However, due to the backlog from the blackout period and ongoing submissions, at least 150 records must be processed daily to avoid falling further behind. While limited CE and QE posting functionality has been restored, ongoing system deficiencies continue to make submissions inefficient, including:
 ·       Having to break down larger classes to smaller lists so the system doesn't get overburdened
 ·       The system claims there was an error but attendees received credit
 ·       The system identifies all attendees were awarded credit but not all receive it
 ·       Perpetual lag with processing each screen

This may not be an issue for smaller providers with limited classes and class sizes, but our volume is significant. We are in continual contact with TREC making them aware of these problems in hopes of a speedy resolution. Also, auto posting education records might be available soon, but this is not guaranteed.

Please share this information with your attendees:
Due to TREC’s ongoing transition to the REALM portal, there is currently a delay in Continuing Education (CE) credit posting for classes as it is now a manual process that doesn't always work. Texas REALTORS® is working diligently to update education records as quickly as possible and notifying TREC of any issues they encounter.

If you are approaching your license renewal deadline, please notify us as soon as possible so we can request expedited processing of your CE credits. Otherwise, credits will be posted as they are processed and/or once the transition to REALM is complete. We appreciate your patience during this time.

Related EdConnect Issues to Be Aware Of
While the automated CE posting is down, your course completions will show as Failed in the "Pushed to TREC" column. There are no additional actions required on your part. We have received your roster and will either manually post the credits or the credits will post when the automation is restored.

In addition, you may find that EdConnect will not accept or find license numbers for newly licensed agents. This will also be fixed once the automation is restored. Until then, email education@texasrealtors.com with agents you were unable to input, and we'll help you from there.

Q1 Broadcast Update & Q2 Open for Requests
We thank you for your patience as the ongoing CE Posting issues have delayed other programs. Remaining Q1 Broadcast Classes will be scheduled and posted by the end of next week.

We are now accepting Q2 broadcast calendar requests. If you would like to teach on our broadcast calendar, please submit your Broadcast Instructor Request Form. Instructors are currently limited to 10 classes per quarter.

Thank You For Another Successful Winter Meeting!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Winter Meeting. Here are some resources that were shared in our Faculty Meeting:

New Texas REALTORS® QE Provider Number
Texas REALTORS® has been issued a new exempt QE Provider number by TREC. The provider number for QE/SAE classes is 20001-XQP. This is for your reference only. You do not need to publish it on course advertisements, as Texas REALTORS® is exempt from these rules.

Winter Meeting
Winter Meeting is underway! Education response times may be delayed as staff are assisting with meetings from now through Tuesday, February 10th.

The Faculty Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, February 7th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Foothills 2 on the 17th Floor of the Hyatt Hotel. We invite all instructors and association staff to join us for:
- Legal Updates with Texas REALTORS® Legal Staff, specifically SB17
- Education Updates with Texas REALTORS® Education Staff
- Classroom Decorum and Management Panel Discussion with Texas REALTORS® Senior Instructors
- Open Q&A

We also invite everyone to join us for "Who Wins, You Win - Your Wallet vs. Your Appraisal", presented by Tony Delgado and sponsored by the Professional Development Committee. This CE session will be on Saturday, February 7th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Foothills 2.

Update for CE Posting
Automation for CE posting to TREC remains unavailable, and Texas REALTORS® Education Staff continue to manually submit class rosters while this issue is being resolved. At this time, posting of QE course credit is also delayed, as that functionality is not yet available to Texas REALTORS®. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue working diligently to post credits as quickly and accurately as possible.

Please continue uploading rosters into EdConnect within 2 business days of the class. The roster submission process has not changed at this time; you do not need to enter the license suffix, -SA or -B.

EdConnect - Change of Instructor & Evaluation Links
If an instructor needs to be added or removed from a course in My Classes, the existing course instance must be deleted and re-entered with the correct instructor(s). Please verify all course details BEFORE submitting your roster, as course instances cannot be changed once completions are entered.

Evaluation links are generated per instructor, per class instance. Please do not reuse evaluation links, and for courses with multiple instructors, clearly label each link before distributing them to attendees.

Education Response Times
We thank you for your patience as the TREC REALM rollout and subsequent CE posting issues affected our January response times. We continue to meet our goal of responding to requests and inquiries within 2 business days. Click here to view our current performance metrics.
